Finally done! This dress took way too long to make, but it is done!!! This is the first time I have ever made a dress without a pattern, simply making it up as I went along. It does feel great to know that the design & all the work is mine, but I think I will try something simpler for my next sewing project!
The dress looks great now that its finally done! Thats pretty amazing that you made up the pattern as you went along, I don't think I could ever do that, knowing me it would turn into a horrible mess! :)

ReplyDeletethank you! i used to make a lot of my own clothes, but as i got busier, i slowed down with it quite a bit. i've been trying to get back into making more of them again. usually i buy from thrift stores & do small alterations for a better fit!

ReplyDeletesoooo impressed that you had the guts to do this without a pattern. I would be paralyzed, afraid I'd end up throwing all the fabric away after slaving for 15 hours... well done! Dress looks fab on you.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I was really worried about it for probably 90% of the time I was working because I was so worried about making some kind of mistake I wouldn't be able to fix. Luckily, it worked out, although I think I will make my next patternless project something a lot simpler!
